To Get Revenge on His Wife

Marcelo believed he was in control of everything. After years of marriage, he decided he had already taken what he wanted from that relationship. The couple’s son was grown, and he no longer felt any emotional obligation.
One day, he came home with a cruel smile on his face. He opened the door and, in front of his wife, introduced a thin, poorly dressed man wearing an old, dirty coat.
— Introduce yourself, my dear — Marcelo said with contempt. — This is our new resident. A homeless man from the neighborhood. From today on, he will live here.
The woman turned pale.
— What is this, Marcelo? What are you talking about? — she asked, shocked.
— I’m tired of you — he replied coldly. — I’m leaving with another woman. Younger, more beautiful. You can deal with this yourself. Feed him, bathe him, buy him new clothes… if you want, you can even marry him.
She could barely speak.
— Have you lost your mind?
— No. I’m finally free. From this marriage, all I wanted was our son, and he’s already grown. My life begins now. Goodbye.
The day before, Marcelo had rushed to a notary’s office with a friend and signed a contract selling his half of the house to the “first interested party.” That interested party was Viktor, a homeless man he had met in front of a supermarket. In exchange for a small amount of money, a few coins, and a bottle of alcohol, Viktor signed the papers without fully understanding what was happening.
Marcelo thought his revenge was perfect. By law, his wife would now have to share the house with a beggar. After handing Viktor an old folder with the documents, he slammed the door and left.
Just a few hours later, he was already on a plane next to his lover, a heavily made-up woman, dreaming of beaches, parties, and a new life far away from everything.
For weeks, Marcelo ignored every attempt to contact him. He believed he had won.
But time passed. The money began to run out, and the lover left as soon as she realized he was not as rich as he claimed to be. With no options left, Marcelo decided to return home, certain he would find his wife destroyed.
When he arrived, he could hardly believe what he saw.
The house had been renovated, clean, and full of life. There were new flowers in the garden. Through the window, he saw Viktor — now well dressed and clean-shaven — sitting at the table, working on a laptop.
Before he could enter, he was confronted by his wife, now confident and calm.
— You don’t live here anymore — she said quietly.
Marcelo exploded.
— This house is still mine!
She smiled.
— No. After you illegally sold your share, I discovered several irregularities in the contract. I hired a lawyer. The judge annulled the sale and ruled that you acted in bad faith.
She took a deep breath and continued:
— And Viktor? He was not a homeless man by chance. He was a former engineer who lost everything after a financial scam. With legal help, he recovered part of his rights and now works with me. He became my business partner.
Marcelo tried to argue, but she stopped him.
— On top of that — she concluded — I filed for divorce, sued you for moral damages, and you lost any right to this property.
The door closed in front of him.
At that moment, Marcelo understood too late: by trying to humiliate and destroy, he ended up being the only one who lost everything.
And he learned, in the worst possible way, that revenge without justice always comes back — stronger and more unexpected.
