The Girl on the Plane Threw Her Hair Over My Seat, Blocking My Screen — So I Had to Teach the Rude Woman a Lesson

After several exhausting days of work, I finally boarded my flight. That moment felt like salvation: a few hours to clear my head, watch a movie, and relax in peace.
All I wanted was silence and tranquility.
But peace didn’t last long.
As soon as the plane began to taxi, the woman in front of me — a young girl, maybe in her early twenties — flopped into her seat, pulled out her phone, and without warning, tossed her long hair over the back of her seat. It landed straight across my tray table, completely blocking my screen.
I didn’t want to start a fight. I gently tapped her shoulder and asked politely if she could move her hair. She muttered a half-hearted “sorry” and pulled it back.
Problem solved?
Not quite.
Ten minutes later, the hair was back — this time, even more smugly thrown, claiming space like it belonged there. I asked again. She didn’t look back. Didn’t acknowledge me. Just kept scrolling through her phone like I didn’t exist.
Something snapped inside me.
I didn’t raise my voice. I didn’t make a scene. But I decided she needed a quick, quiet, and unforgettable lesson.
So here’s what I did. One by one, I pulled out three pieces of chewing gum from my bag, chewed them calmly, and, with the most neutral expression, started sticking them into her hair. Strand by strand.
About fifteen minutes passed before she sensed something was wrong. She ran her hand through her hair — and froze.
“What… is… this?!” she shrieked, tugging at the gum.
Without taking my eyes off the screen, I replied calmly:
— “That’s the result of your arrogance.”
— “You’re insane!” she snapped.
— “And you’re rude,” I said. “Now you have two options. One: finish the flight like this and cut off half your hair later. Two: I help you now with a pair of manicure scissors I keep in my bag. Your call.”
She turned pale.
I leaned in and whispered, “If you throw your hair like that again, you’ll leave this plane bald. I’m very precise — even in turbulence.”
She didn’t move a muscle for the rest of the flight. Her hair stayed in a tight bun while I finally enjoyed my movie — in complete, well-deserved peace.
