My Neighbors Wrapped My Car in Tape after I Asked Them to Stop Parking in My Spot — I Did Not Let It Slide

My name is Gregory Watson, and I’ve lived in this neighborhood for over twenty years. After losing my wife, Margaret, eight years ago, life became much quieter. Since then, it’s just been me—occasionally visited by my grandson, Harry, during the holidays. Things remained peaceful… until new neighbors moved in.

Everything changed when Jack and his teenage son, Drew, moved into the house next door. It didn’t take long to realize that Jack had a serious entitlement issue. Without asking, he started parking in the spot designated for my house.

I tried to handle the situation calmly. I approached him, explained that the spot was mine and that I suffer from chronic leg pain, so I need to park close to my front door. Jack didn’t care. He kept parking there—and things escalated quickly.

One day, after a firmer conversation, he finally moved his car. I thought that was the end of it. But the next morning, I woke up to find my car completely wrapped in tape. A childish and disrespectful prank.

I took photos and started thinking about how to respond. With help from two younger neighbors, Noah and Kris, we launched a harmless but glorious revenge plan. We decorated Jack’s yard with biodegradable glitter, set up dozens of pink plastic flamingos, and hung loud wind chimes everywhere. It was spectacular.

The next morning, Jack stormed outside—but before he could do anything, the police showed up. Thanks to the photo evidence of the vandalism, he was arrested for damaging my vehicle. Drew was also questioned.

After that day, peace returned to our street. Jack and Drew eventually moved out. My parking spot stayed clear, and the neighborhood even held a little barbecue to celebrate the “victory.”

But in truth, this wasn’t just about a parking space. It was about standing up for what’s right, about neighbors supporting each other—and about proving that a little creativity can go a long way in restoring justice.
