My Husband’s Family Asked Me to Be a Surrogate.

But I Had No Idea Who the Baby Was For 👶

When my husband, Jair, called me to sit down with his mother and his brother, Matheus, I thought it was just another one of those family meetings full of gossip and small dramas. But this time, the subject was serious — and completely unexpected.

They had a shocking request: they wanted me to be a surrogate. 😳
Specifically, for Matheus and his fiancée.

The details were vague. The supposed fiancée was abroad, working as a photographer in a remote area with no phone signal. They assured me she was aware of everything, that she had fertility issues, and that Matheus was desperate to have a child.

Jair, my husband, was excited about the idea:
“Think about the money, Jessica. It would really help us and the kids.”

At the time, our two children were just 3 and 5 years old. It was hard to say no. The offer seemed beneficial, even if strange. So, reluctantly, I agreed.

Throughout the entire pregnancy, I endured nausea, discomfort, pain, medical exams, and emotional ups and downs — all for a baby that was supposedly wanted by a woman I had never even seen. No calls. No messages. No appearances.
Still, I trusted Jair and his family.

On the day I went into labor, Jair stayed by my side the entire time.
Matheus was there too, but I refused to let him into the delivery room. It felt too personal. Jair’s mother was also there, always hovering nearby, nervous and anxious.

At one point, Jair left the room and returned minutes later with someone else.

“The supposed fiancée who couldn’t have children.”

But the moment she walked in… my blood ran cold.

IT WAS HER.

The woman my husband had cheated on me with years ago.
The woman who had once destroyed my marriage. The woman who had promised to stay away from us forever.

In that instant, everything made sense. The silence. The distance. The secrecy.
I wasn’t carrying the baby for Matheus and his fiancée.

I was carrying my husband’s mistress’s baby.

I was used. Deceived. Manipulated by the entire family.

There, in the middle of labor, my pain was no longer just physical. It was emotional.
I felt betrayed by everyone around me.

And yet, I gave birth. Not for them — but for the baby, who was innocent in all of this.

After that day, my life was never the same.
And as painful as the truth was, it also set me free.

Today, when I look back, I realize:
Sometimes, the greatest betrayals don’t come from enemies — but from those who sleep beside us.

💰 Financial and Personal Loans: Necessity or Impulse?

Loans can be helpful in emergencies, but they can also lead to debt if taken without proper planning. It’s important to:

  • Compare interest rates between banks and lenders.
  • Read the contract carefully, especially regarding interest, terms, and penalties.
  • Never commit more than 30% of your income to loan payments.
  • Avoid taking out loans to pay off previous debt — that creates a never-ending cycle.

Remember: Credit is a tool, not a miracle solution.
